About the Course
This comprehensive workshop equips participants with the knowledge and practical skills required to develop, implement, test, and continuously improve effective contingency plans for disasters, emergencies, crises, and other disruptive events. Effective contingency planning helps organizations anticipate potential threats, establish preparedness measures, clarify response responsibilities, and maintain critical operations during disruption.Participants will explore risk and vulnerability assessment, scenario development, emergency preparedness, response structures, resource planning, communication, early warning systems, business continuity, crisis coordination, and recovery planning. The workshop emphasizes practical, realistic, participatory plans supported by clear procedures, triggers, responsibilities, resources, and preparedness actions.Through case studies, group exercises, scenario analysis, and crisis simulations, participants will develop practical contingency planning capabilities and learn how to identify preparedness gaps, activate response plans, coordinate stakeholders, and evaluate plans during and after an incident.
